Survey / Civil Technician

Job Summary

You will work with AEC clients (architects, engineers, contractors, & owners) and pilots to develop data collection plans, analyze data, and produce deliverables and presentations. This position requires the ability to balance multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and has a mix of solitary focused work as well interacting with team members and clients.  

You will join a small team in a rapidly growing startup. This presents lots of opportunities to learn and expand your skills, but requires the ability to creatively problem solve and work as a team to successfully deliver projects rather than simply fulfilling a well-defined job role. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with our existing customers and partners to ensure Measure is providing a premium, innovative drone-based service and data product
  • Process UAV data using various desktop and cloud-based software
  • Create both static and web-based maps from data for client delivery
  • Other duties as administered
  • Some travel required (est. 20%)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to review and extract site information from design drawings
  • GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetry experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience learning new software and workflows 
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and a varying workload to meet deadlines 
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering, or related degree, or 2-3 years of experience working in the surveying / civil engineering field 
  • Detail and process oriented 
  • Able to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing start-up environment
